Why not introduce a mandatory healthy living program for all soon to be and new parents?

Patricia H asked:

The healthy living program should be a preventive program to promote healthier eating habits, and active lifestyles. It should be instructed in parallel with pregnancy care programs and should be tied up to any type of welfare or social aid, that single or low-income families would apply for.

Because you can’t mandate good things to people, they have to choose them for the choice to mean anything. Compulsory solutions don’t stick. It also has a bit of a police state or nanny state to it.

Good idea, and how about getting approval from the government before you can have a child and where you can live and what schools you can go to and what field of study you can take.
