I need to write a contract for healthy living with my 15yr old son, can anyone help?
my2goldens asked:
My son is overweight and spends too much time on the computer. He is active in school. I want to make a contract for him to attend a Healthy Kids workshop 2-3 times a week with rewards and consequences.

There is nothing wrong with writing it out as you want…when I was a licensed foster parent I had each incoming child sign a home done Contract of sorts regarding home expectations…after all they are only kids and complicated contracts will in a way go over their head. So spell it out exactly as you wish with specific consequences for negative actions and specific rewards for positive actions and then talk it over with him, maybe there will be some room for compromise before the final copy is made up and signed. Good luck!

I would right the contract and have him sign under his own will. This may take some manipulation on your part but make him feel like it’s his decision to sign it. That way when he breaks hit agreement he wont be as argumentative about it.
