How do I keep my running fitness up during the winter months in snow?

Brian L asked:

I was wondering if there are any exercises to do to keep my leg endurance up because I live out in a country-ish area so there are no streets to run on. There is only a dirt/gravel road and we get a lot of snow. Does anyone know what my best option would be to improve/maintain my fitness?

where do you live that gets soo much snow you can’t run?
i watched this movie during my cross country practice once and there was a norwegian runner running on roads where there were FEETS of snow….i thing you just have to bundle up…but i mean….if its like a blizzard outside or it’s impossible to run then take a few days of…run on a treadmill

I would do as many excercises as you possibly can in your house and if you do have some sort of gym thats near you, i would definitly go there… if you dont just keep doing excercises in your house as much as you can. Also if you have a tredmile than that would be GREAT!!!

Run thru that snow!!!! It may be slow, but heck you’d probably be in pretty good shape afterwards. Rocky did it in Rocky IV, give it a shot
